From its original location in the cozy upstairs of the building on the corner of Liberty and Georgetowne to its own, more spacious area in the Princess Shopping Center, The Second Floor Scrapbook Store has certainly grown over the years. Recently, it has become much bigger. In April 2007, Nancy Bobby, owner of Second Floor Scrapbook Store, made a grand entrance into the world of ecommerce with Small World Memories, a website dedicated to the Disney niche of the store. “People who live Disney tend to passionately love Disney,” Bobby said. She explained that a Disney vacation is a unique vacation and many people want to scrapbook about it. Disney-themed products have always been popular in her store: a niche second only to the rubber stamp collection. This, combined with her love and knowledge for Disney vacationing made Small World Memories an ideal decision for Bobby. Small
World Memories not only sells materials for scrapbookers to use,
but also gives ideas and hints for when vacationers return from
their trip. Nancy Bobby is especially proud of the amount of key
information sh Small World Memories also has an interactive aspect to it. Bobby encourages customers to submit finished layouts of their scrapbooks for occasional contests. Her blog is not only personable and enjoyable to read, but visitors can comment on it and she will take the time to respond. “In
order for a business to grow, you need to sell on the internet to
succeed,” she said. “[We have] done very well so far.”
She has sold to people all over the country, Florida, California,
and Minnesota she mentioned specifically. “There is no limit
to what the website can do,” she said. “Disney always
has something new.”
