Short Bio: I grew up in Catonsville and graduated from Woodlawn High School. I earned my B.S. in business administration with a concentration in accounting at Towson University in 1981. After postgraduate studies at the University of Baltimore, I worked as an accountant and financial consultant for small businesses for more than 20 years. My husband Mark and I have been actively involved in our community since moving to Eldersburg in 1985. Through volunteering with Carroll County Public Schools, the PTA and the Freedom Area Citizens Council, I was able to get fellow residents together and fight for the construction of three new schools in South Carroll County. After that, I continued to work with schools, serving four years on the Carroll County School board—the last two as President. Finally, I ran for District 9B Delegate, where I am now serving my second term. During the legislative session in Annapolis each year, I strive to improve the quality of life for Carroll County residents by opposing new taxes, creating a better environment for small businesses and alleviating the economic burden on the middle class.

Favorite hobby: My kids complain that my husband and I don’t have hobbies. Our hobbies are our children. I am a frequent spectator at their high school and college sport events. I also like to ski.

Favorite musical artist: I don’t have a favorite artist, but I love 50’s music.

Favorite book: The Gift by Richard Paul Evans

Favorite movie: I don’t have a favorite movie, but lately my favorite thing to watch has been the new John Adams mini-series.
