Property at soon to be new main Eldersburg intersection. New target for destruction?

The ongoing debate about the dilapidated property at the corner intersection of Routes 26 and 32 has finally been resolved. The problem, as the owner of the property pointed out to the Eldersburg Council, was not that the poor looking building was at Eldersburg's most prominent intersection.

Rather, the problem is that the main intersection is in the wrong place, and if moved to a better location, it would ease traffic, stop the wear and degradation of his property, and make everyone happy. The best alternative, all agreed, is to move the intersection a couple of blocks East to Georgetown Boulevard. Work will begin immediately to reroute traffic, with the hope that everything is in place by Monday, April 4.

Financing for the new intersection will come from a series of Basket Bingo events, a golf tournament, and monies originally slated for upgrades to the existing intersection.
