New Win Long Offers a Great Carry-Out Experience

Along the stretch of a seldom visited strip of businesses lies an underappreciated Chinese food carry-out and sushi bar. New Win Long, located right on Liberty Road between McDonalds and Food Lion has a menu to be reckoned with, and service to match.

In addition to usual dishes such as pork fried rice, orange chicken, and lo-mien, New Win Long also has an extensive list of sushi and sashimi. Lunch boxes, ranging from $3.50 - $5.00 are a quick sushi fix for the afternoon, and most other orders can be a small or large size, so you won't have to worry about week-old fried rice in your fridge or never having enough to go around.

The shop itself is just as a carry-out should be. A short walk to the register with the menu on the counter right in front of you, half a dozen comfortable booth seats with the daily newspaper, and a couple of pleasant paintings of Mt. Fuji and cherry blossoms. The cashier was very kind and attentive, as well, with a smile and an estimated wait of 15 minutes for my whole meal. After 15 minutes, my bag was topped with fortune cookies and I was good to go.

The food was just as excellent as the service. The food was hot out of the bag when I got home, and stayed hot through the entire meal. Granted, I did eat quickly, because it was so delicious, but it was still refreshing to have hot food. The egg rolls were light and crunchy, filled perfectly, and the chicken dishes had plump cubes of chicken with finely diced ingredients equally spread throughout.

Although I opted out of the sushi menu, I would think it's safe to say that it's just as good, based on this experience. This hidden treasure of Eldersburg is worth a call the next time you have a craving for just about anything Chinese.
