J & Y Seafood Opens

Last Saturday, September 22, 2007, Eldersburg welcomed J & Y Seafood, a new sushi bar/cafe and seafood market. The restaurant, located on the corner of Georgetown Boulevard and Liberty Road, offers freshly-made sushi, a large variety of fresh seafoods, ice cream and more.

If you're looking for fresh sushi, look no further than J & Y Seafood Market. The selection is much larger than almost anyplace around, and the prices reasonable. The sushi in Eldersburg doesn't get any fresher than this; it's made right in front of you while you wait. There's crowd favorites like California Roll, but do yourself a favor and try something a little more exotic, like the Monster Roll, featuring soft shell crab tempura, spicy tuna, and lettuce with tobiko. If you're looking for ambience, you might want to try one of the Japanese steak houses in town. The sushi, though, is excellent and great for carryout.

The seafood market is comparable to Martin's and Safeway with a few extras as well. Fresh seafood selections include shrimp, crab legs, salmon, flounder, crab meat, scallops, mussels, lobster, and much more. Prices are reasonable, but during the first few days in business, quantities were limited.

If you're a sushi lover, put J & Y on your list. If you cook with seafood, give J & Y a try as well. If you're looking for a dinner out with the family or looking to impress, try down the road at Kyoto. The seating area is a carry over from the Moonlight Cafe, with the same furniture, walls, and flooring, with the exception that somehow, mysteriously the tiled floor buckles upwards.
