J & Y Tokyo Market may seem like a small sushi restaurant not worth visiting, but once you walk inside, you immediately understand why The Carroll County Times has recognized it in the “Carroll’s Best” contest for the past 2 years. It’s a great, affordable sushi place that just makes you feel welcome. The first thing I heard when I walked in the door was “Hello, Welcome to J & Y!.” While I was there, I got a chance to taste a few different types of the sushi on their menu. Before then, I was not really all that into sushi, but I can certainly tell you that I will be back. The food was fresh and delicious, and the menu was long and full. There are so many dishes to try, but the chefs can also custom make anything that’s not on the menu.

As far as the environment, the authentic Japanese sushi bar was the first thing I noticed. When you sit down at the bar, you can see all the fresh fish and ingredients the chefs are using to prepare your meal and watch them do it. There are private rooms for small gatherings such as parties or meetings but there is also a larger dining room area open for families to come and have lunch or dinner.

All things considered, no other sushi restaurant can offer the great food; affordable prices, friendly staff and overall good experience that J & Y Tokyo Market can.
