Native Pride Dancers visit Carrolltowne Elementary

The Native Pride Dancers, a Native American Dance group based in Savage, Minn., performed November 11 at Carrolltowne Elementary School in a PTA-sponsored event.

The dancers helped students and teachers alike celebrate Native American month and the Thanksgiving holiday. Students were treated to an authentic Native American powwow with natives in traditional dress. Afterward the group performed ensemble and solo tribal dancing.
Some students and even staff were invited onto the stage to learn the Native American dances.

The Native Pride Dancers have performed at the Kennedy Center, during the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade and at the Atlanta Olympics.
