On August 13, Piney Run Park hosted its annual Lunar Lunker Nighttime Bass Fishing Tournament. Over fifty anglers competed in the event, with prizes awarded to those with the largest catches.

Mike Mapp of Pasadena, MD, won the first place prize of $200 with a 4.71 lbs, 20 ¼ inch long bass. He also claimed the third place prize of $100 with a second bass of 3.38 lbs, 17 ½ inches.

Todd Page of Westminster took the second place prize of $150 with a 3.64 lbs, 19 ½ inch bass.

Piney Run Park also announced the opening of registration for its Fall Fishing Tournament to be held on Saturday, October 16, from 7am – 12 noon. Registration costs $20.
