During the school year, Century, Liberty and South Carroll High Schools all provide theatre productions for the community, but during the summer, one of Eldersburg’s only form of live entertainment comes from the local theatre company, “TACTICC”, also known as The Arts Coming Together in Carroll County. This summer, the company’s first production is “High School Musical.” With a cast of about 30, the show will open on Friday, July 16th and goes until Saturday, July 23rd in the Schnorr Auditorium at Liberty High School. For more information or to purchase tickets, visit their website, www.tacticc.org or stop in at the box office at 1129 Liberty Rd. in Sykesville.

The cast has been rehearsing for about 8 weeks now and they seem to be comfortable in their roles and ready to perform. “As with any show, there are some glitches during tech week, but when the show opens, its going to be fantastic”, says Executive Director, Tony Cimino.

As I sat and watched the rehearsal, I thought back to my days in the Liberty High School drama program. The quality of the shows never ceased to amaze me considering the budget constraints and the age and experience of the students in them. But, as expected, Executive Director/Founder of TACTICC and Drama teacher for Liberty High School, Tony Cimino, has done it again. As always, the show looks and sounds Broadway worthy.
