Says Goodbye
June 29, 2007
Sad
but true, the beloved Fun Quarters will be saying goodbye tomorrow,
June 30, 2007. After twelve years of games, prizes, and brightly
colored tubes, the most prevalent rumor is that the arcade ran out
of business. Most residents were not aware that the arcade was still
open for business after the mall closed.
Although
it was not the biggest or fanciest of arcades, there was something
about Fun Quarters that had Eldersburg residents coming back. For
children, it was the maze of tunnels, tubes, and ocean of plastic
balls that could keep them entertained for hours. For the teenage
crowd, it was the Dance Dance Revolution machine that Fun Quarters
housed for a few years. And for parents, it was a place to watch
your children enjoy themselves on a rainy Sunday afternoon.
So
farewell, Fun Quarters. Your games may have been in a perpetual
state of disrepair, but we loved you anyway.
