Announces Candidacy for County Commissioner

Greenwalt, former publisher and editor of the Eldersburg Eagle,
officially announced his decision to run in the Carroll County Commissioner
race this afternoon at Salerno’s Restaurant.
With his name leaving the byline of the Eagle and moving onto the
ballot, Greenwalt has quite a year ahead of him. “It’s
pretty exciting,” he said. “I just registered today
officially.”
Greenwalt is one of three Eldersburg residents running for one of
three commissioner seats, and has joined the process a bit late,
with less than a hundred days left before the primary elections
this fall. Backing Greenwalt in his campaign is Kenneth Holniker,
attorney and long-time resident of Carroll County who also attended
the announcement.
Some of Greenwalt’s larger points are dealing with traffic
congestion in South Carroll and making police investigations and
government spending more open to the public. “Why shouldn’t
we also have full knowledge of tax dollars being spent for any project?”
he said. “Let the sun shine in.”
Tomorrow, June 10, Greenwalt will be in Taneytown, and after that
he’ll be attending various carnivals and public events to
spread the word.
