Freedom District Lions Sponsor Tree Donation, Annual Fundraiser

          The Freedom District Lions Club held their regular meeting on August 28, 2008 at the Messiah Lutheran Church.  The Guest speakers for the evening were from Support Military Heroes/Operation Christmas Tree.  Mr. James Ward, VP and Co-Founder and Ms. Luisa Gonzalez, a veteran of the Iraq war spoke about the efforts of this program.   This organization is planning on sending 7,000 Christmas Trees to our troops overseas during the Holiday Season.  This will eclipse the 5,000 trees sent last year.  For a $25.00 donation you can help send a tree to a member of our armed forces.  For more information, visit www.supportmilitaryheroes.org.
          The next fund raiser for the Freedom District Lions is our annual holiday fruit sale.  This year 2/5 bushel boxes of oranges and grapefruit will sell for $18.00 and the trio gift boxes which contain 12 oranges, 12 grapefruit and 12 apples will sell for $25.00.  To place your order for early December delivery, contact any Freedom District Lion or call 410-549-LION and leave a message
