Lions Present Scholarships

At the regular meeting of the Freedom District Lions Club on July 25th, the recipients of the Lions Scholarships were honored. The Scholarships were presented to two outstanding High School Graduates. The first student awarded a scholarship was Elizabeth Pickett from Liberty High School. Elizabeth will be attending UMBC in the Fall. Also awarded a scholarship was Megan Garber from Century High School. Megan will be attending the University of Maryland, College Park. The Freedom Lions wish both of these students great success in all of their future endeavors.

The Freedom Lions next fund raiser is our second annual Double Basket Bingo to be held on August 25th at the Freedom District Fire Hall. The admission price of $40.00 includes a Continental Breakfast, Lunch and 40 games of Basket Bingo. There will be 3 King Tuts for baskets as well. Over 80 Baskets will be given away at the event. Public support of these fund raisers enabled the Lions to give out $6,000 in Scholarships to High School and College students last year.
