Freedom District Lions
Our 4th annual Double Basket Bingo is scheduled for August 22nd at the Sykesville Freedom VFD Hall at Route 32 and Freedom Ave. For your $40.00 admission fee, you receive breakfast, lunch and 40 games of basket bingo. There will also be raffles, Jackpot games and several of the popular King Tutt games where someone will win 5 Longaberger baskets in each game. This event is usually a sell out, so reserve your seats now by calling Lion Sue on 410-795-0920 or Lion Viki on 410-795-5334. The Freedom District Lions are always looking for men and women who would like help their community. The Freedom District Lions held their regular meeting at Messiah Lutheran Church on July 22, 2009. The guest speaker was Laura Apostle. Ms Apostle is the curator at the Strawbridge Shrine in New Windsor. Appearing in a dress from the 1700’s, Ms Apostle spoke on life as it was for Robert Strawbridge and the shrine itself.
