Eldersburg Wal-Mart Aids Freedom District Lions in the Battle Against World Blindness

The International Association of Lions Clubs has embarked on a campaign to save the sight of millions of the world’s population. To assist in this battle the Freedom District Lions were presented with a TV/DVD/VCR Combo, to use for fund raising presentations, through the generosity of the Eldersburg Wal-Mart.

The original Sight First Program which ran from 1991-1994 saved the sight of 24 million people worldwide, but the battle is not over. New challenges to sight could raise the world’s blind population from 37 million to 78 million by the year 2020. A child of the world goes blind every minute. The Lions Clubs of the world are hoping to raise at least 150 million dollars to continue this battle against blindness. Tax deductible contributions to this effort may be made through the Freedom District Lions Club Foundation. Checks should indicate Sight First II in the memo section and be mailed to P.O.
