Motorcycle Accident Nearly Claims Life

Friday evening at approximately 6:45 PM a motorcycle crashed on Marriottsville 2 near Arrington Road. The male driver was flown to shock trauma after leaving the road and being thrown from the motorcycle as a result of an accident. No other vehicles were involved in the accident. Details are choppy at the time of this article.

What was arguably one of the most attractive motorcycles in the state is not a custom pile of metal. The chopper motorcycle sustained severe damage. Choppers are widely known for being difficult to control. Custom motorcycles like the one in this accident are often valued over $60,000.00.

With gas prices on the rise there is an increasing number of motorcycles on the road and sadly there are increasing incidents where these motorcyclists ignore road signs and speed limits. The margin for error is small when riding motorcycles and accident risk increases exponentially when combined with excessive speed.

This accident comes on the heels of another motorcycle accident on August 21, 2006.
