Several Carroll County agriscience teachers, including Libery High School's Clare Linfield and Katy Macleod, were presented awards during the Region IV National Association of Agricultural Educators Leadership Conference, which took place July 6-9 in Rockville, Maryland.
Clare Linfield was presented the Teacher Mentor Award, which is given to one teacher each year and recognizes an experienced Maryland Agricultural Teachers Association (MATA) member that has served as a positive role model and guide for rising members in the association.
The Teacher Turn the Key Award, given to Katy Macleod, recognizes new, rising members of MATA who have strong classrooms, a Future Farmers of America (FFA) group, and devoted involvement in MATA activities. Liberty's FFA team, which is advised by Macleod, has placed high in state FFA competitions and won several awards.
