Liberty High School students will be participating in a celebration of unity and diversity in the first county student-led workshop. Unity Day will be held on Friday, April 8, 2011.
The day, a two hour and forty-five minute early dismissal for students, will include a keynote presentation by Dr. Craig Williams, a counseling psychologist, and an activity led by Liberty students who volunteered and were specially trained for this day. There also will be a preview of Aida, the school’s spring musical production, which deals with multicultural conflict.
Lunch time will be a mix-it-up occasion where students will be encouraged to sit with someone new. The day will conclude with Liberty students signing a pledge against bullying.
