IS THIS THE FIRST COUNTDOWN TO MILLIONS GAME?
No, the first Countdown to Millions game was introduced in November 2006. That drawing was held on January 1, 2007.
HOW MUCH DOES EACH TICKET COST?
Tickets cost $20 each.
HOW MANY TICKETS ARE AVAILABLE?
There are only 420,000 tickets available and once they are all gone – they are gone!
WHAT HAPPENS IF THE GAME DOES NOT SELL OUT?
The drawing will still take place on July 7, 2007.
WHAT ARE THE PRIZES?
There will be four $1 million prizes and over 900 prizes between $500 and $50,000.
ARE THERE ANY SPECIAL PROMOTIONS WITH THIS GAME?
Beginning June 18th, players will receive a $2 Quick Pick Mega Millions ticket (for the next Mega Millions drawing) every time they purchase a Countdown to Millions ticket.
Previously, there was a bonus coupon promotion associated with the game. Players received a bonus coupon with an 8-digit number. Four bonus coupon numbers were randomly drawn every day for $500 each! Winning numbers can be found on the Lottery’s website.
HOW IS THE DRAWING CONDUCTED?
The drawing is conducted using a Random Number Generator (RNG). An RNG is a highly secure computerized system that selects numbers randomly. The Lottery has used an RNG for many years to conduct coupon drawings, including the following: Countdown to Millions, Pick 3 Bonus Match-Up, Pick 3 30th Anniversary Promotion and Catch the Poodles.
As with all Lottery drawings, Officials must adhere to strict drawing procedures to ensure the integrity of each drawing. The drawing is witnessed by a Drawings Manager, a Security Official, an Internal Auditor, and an Information Technology Representative. For added security, the drawing is video-taped.
