Eldersburg
has chosen its newest hometown hero - Chauncey - as 2005 Eldersburg
Pet of the Year. Chauncey was picked for the honor because of his
self-reliance, community involvement, and pretty golden fur. At
42 years young (6 people years), Chauncey stays active by taking
care of his owners, his elderly neighbors, and is visibly active
in several community groups, most notably Carroll Canines for a
Cure, of which he is the Lead Dog. The group works tirelessly to
cure pet owner shortcomings and actively promote good owner training
and tolerance. Chauncey
will be honored at a Piney Run Park Runaround this Saturday. Admission
is free but donations of unused pet manuals to be given to clueless
pet owners is requested.
