  >  I was terribly disappointed in the changes I have seen. I have dined at Luna Rossa's many times but recently, and I don't know if its new management or not, I ordered for lunch a carryout Ceasars Salad for $5.00. I could see the bottom of the tin plate, thats how little lettuce was in the container. The other person who purchased the same meal had the same problem. The croutons were so large and hard you couldn't cut them or eat them. They increased their prices in April and this is what you get for more money. I won't go back.

CHRIS IS A RETIRED LAW-ENFORCER; OPENING LUNA ROSSA WAS A DREAM REALIZED. HE'S HAD A HAND IN EVERYTHING MADE THERE, FROM MENUS TO DECOR. HIS HOMEMADE BREAD IS ONE OF HIS SPECIALTIES, AND THE BREAD IS CONSISTENTLY FRAGRANT & CHEWY; ALBEIT CHEWY IN AN O.K. WAY. ONE OF THE FEW ITEMS ON THE MENU THAT IS NOT MADE BY THE RESTAURANT IS JALAPENO POPPERS. AND AS THE BREAD IS ONE OF MY FAVORITE ITEMS ON THE MENU, SUFFICE IT TO SAY THAT THE POPPERS, ALONG WITH THE REST OF THE MENU IS WONDERFULLY FAR FROM O.K. -- O.K. MEANING ORDINARY! IN THE SHORT PERIOD OF TIME THAT LUNA ROSSA HAS BEEN OPEN, CHRIS & HIS STAFF HAVE GROWN A MENU THAT IS CONSISTENTLY GOOD. THE FEW SPECIALS THAT POP UP HAVE BEEN INCLUDED IN THE NEW MENUS THAT WERE PRINTED UP OVER THE SUMMER. I TRIED A NEW-ISH ENTREE' THIS WEEK, A LINGUINE DISH WITH SHRIMP, PROSCUITTO HAM & MOZZARELLA IN A SEAFOOD CREAM SAUCE. THE DISH WAS FLAVORFUL & RICH, BUT NOT OVERPOWERING. THE SHRIMP WAS ALMOST OVERDONE, BUT GOOD. JUST ENOUGH MOZZARELLA & PROSCUITTO HAM TO ROUND OUT THE FLAVOR. ALSO ENJOYED THE CREAM OF CRAB SOUP. NOT SURE HOW NEW THIS IS, BUT I HAVE TO SAY THAT THIS LOCAL FAVORITE IS WITHOUT A DOUBT THE BEST CREAM OF CRAB SOUP I HAVE EVER HAD!! THAT INCLUDES MY FIRST CUP IN TIDEWATER, VIRGINIA IN THE 70s! RICH, CREAMY WITH CHUNKS OF CRABMEAT. THE BROTH IS MADE UTILIZING SHELLS OF CRUSTACEANS & ROOT VEGETABLES, THE WAY IT SHOULD BE MADE; WITH CREAM, BUTTER, ETC. ADDED NEAR THE END TO FINISH. CANNOT WAIT FOR THE NEXT BOWL! SO MUCH BETTER THAN OTHER RESTAURANTS LOCALLY; BUT NOT NAMING THEM, NOT NICE...
>  I go there all the time for the gnocchi. It is great! The food is always good, the owner is really nice, and they just put in a really nice bar. For some good Italian in Eldersburg go to Luna Rossa.
>  Loved it - don't know where your staff writer is coming from, but we were there on 8/9/06 and it was great! Food was a good-sized portion (and I'm not a small person either). I had a shrimp dish with pasta, tomotoes, mushrooms, and prosciutto. Very, very tasty. Rolls were warm and fresh, my daughter loved her lasagna, which was very reasonably priced for the size from the children's menu. The chocolate cake for dessert was very rich and my cannoli was very tasty and very full with the cheese filling. Our waitress, Paula, was very nice and efficient. There were only 2 waitresses last night and the restaurant had about 15 tables with patrons, but the service was still good.
>  Great pizza. I am a picky pizza eater and I must say this place has really good pizza. The other food is average at best.
>  I also gave this restaurant two chances and was not impressed either time. Prices were high for low quality of food. Poorly decorated with no warm coziness to it at all. Was very clean though and service staff was friendly.
