Eldersburg Restaurants and Dining Guide
James and John Serra opened Serra Brothers Italian Deli for business in 1997. Located across the street from Food Lion Serra Brothers offers an abundance of Italian dishes and sandwiches. The
menu is full but difficult to see and follow. Much of the menu is
handwritten with markers so bring your glasses. You place your order
at the counter and pay, and then when your order is ready the staff
brings it to your table. I Let me start by saying the food is outstanding. Our family had several dishes. My wife had the Zitti, which was full of flavor, and nicely prepared, our daughter had the child’s portion of spaghetti which was also very nice. Our son had a sliced turkey and cheese sandwich on white toast and I had the meat lovers hand tossed pizza. The pizza is absolutely the best in Eldersburg. Portions were large and pricing was fair and reasonable. The service was poor both times. People behind the counter were eating and nibbling both times. The chef also had a plate of food which we watched him eat during our second visit. This was troublesome as these were the same people preparing our food. No one used gloves, no one washed their hands. A review of the health department regulations is clearly in order. Unfortunately the service people were not interested in service or cleanliness. Tables were dirty, and the floor needed to be swept in the worst way. There was a pathway of dirt leading from the front door to an inside door. Support staff walked over the trash on the floor to refresh their drinks. The second time I was there were seven people behind the counter including one young lady in flip flops, shorty shorts and a belly shirt. There was a total of seven customers seated at any time. During our visit there was initially a family of three and our family of four and towards the end of our visit there other family was replaced by three young men (at least one of which worked at the restaurant). As I have mentioned in other reviews, everyone deserves a second chance and I will always visit the business a second time before writing an unfavorable review. Never a third. I attempted to contact the owners prior to submitting this review to offer an opportunity to address the issues. My attempt was through the website on the contact page. I have not received a reply from the business as of the fourth day. The décor is nicely done and would be very pleasant if it were clean. Seating was plentiful and comfortable. There is plenty of room for wheel chairs, walker and such. Parking is abundant and easy. Reasonably easy access on and off Liberty Road. Prices are very reasonable. Dinner will cost about $8.00 per person. Serra

afternoon about 4:00 PM and the second was at 6:30 PM on a Monday.
