Buys Carrolltowne Center - Plans to Build High Rise and Mixed Development
Complex
Donald
Trump and the Trump Organization have finalized the purchase of
Carrolltowne Center in Eldersburg, and plan to redevelop the property.
The sale became final as of April 1 and plans for the new project
are slated to begin tomorrow morning. Permits and zoning exemptions
will be issued today, placing the project on the fast track. "In
my business, time is money," Donald Trump explained.
Trump has been eyeing the property for several years and now seemed
like the best time to expand the Trump empire. Trump chose the location
based on favorable demographics, rising property values, and high
local ratings for his TV show, the Apprentice.
Trump's plans for the property include a ninety-five story residence
and office high rise, with retail space at the top and bottom floors.
"Trump Carrolltowne will be a world-class building in one of
the finest communities in the world. Trump Carrolltowne will be
a landmark showcase project for bringing large urban architecture
and amenities to smaller communities."
The Donald excitedly described the highlights of the project to
the community, "We've got a premiere mix of retailers, restaurants,
and businesses, all suited just for Eldersburg. For example, we
are proud to announce we've just signed a deal with an established
retailer who will operate as the 92nd Floor Scrapbook Store. They'll
offer cropping and classes on the terrace overlooking the beautiful
Eldersburg landscape and Liberty Resevoir." We will also be
relocating existing tenants into the new project.
Asked how he got around the water and building restrictions, Trump
explained, "I am fortunate to have my Trump
brand and supply of water, so we're shipping in all the water
we'll need. As for building restrictions, we were able to establish
and show that our project will produce considerable tax revenue
that will go directly to the community while not straining resources.
We can say that with a straight face because many of the people
in the project will live and work in the same building, minimizing
the strain on traffic. Also, many of the people in the building
will be too busy making money for me to have families, so the impact
on the school will be minimal." The project is expected to
be completed by Monday.
