Word on the Street

is the weekly source for all the unofficial stuff that may not be
in Eldersburg Print. I'm Jay-Burg, local resident, worker bee, and
connoisseur of everything E-Burg.
Goodbye Jackie :(
Carroll County Public Schools is moving several educators and administrators
within the school system. Longtime Eldersburg
Elementary School Principal, Jackie Powell
is being moved to Hampstead Elementary as the Principal there. Jackie
has been a favorite in the community for many years and will be
sorely missed. Other local transfers include Christian Roemer,
Assistant Principal, from Oklahoma Road Middle to Assistant Principal,
East Middle;
Cynthia McCabe, Principal, from Piney Ridge Elementary
to Elementary Supervisor.

Mrs. Hoff :(
Longtime Freedom Elementary instructional assistant Margaret
Hoff, after serving for decades, is retiring.

Kate :(
Word has it that Kate Wright, of Wright
Financial, is stepping down as president of the SCBA. Kate has
been SCBA president for a year and a half and has served the South
Carroll Business Association for several years, in several capacities,
including Board member and PR chair.

Laurie :(
Former founder and owner of the Second
Floor Scrapbook Store, real estate agent, and co-founder of
Two Busy Beads, Laurie
Spindler, will be realizing her dreams and going to
Disney
World and living happily ever after. Laurie and her family are
moving to the Disney planned community of Celebration
and hopefully working at Disney World as well. Did we mention that
Laurie is a huge Disney fan? G'bye Laurie, we'll miss you.
The
Cutting Edge Beer Experience in Eldersburg
First they brought us the Chill Discs, the bar discs that keep your
beer chilled. Now, Serra Brothers Sports Bar brings to Eldersburg
the only outdoor Beer Garden in town; the Beer Garden will be the
scene to an Outdoor Summer Bash Party on June 24, from 3-9 p.m.
