Eldersburg Resident Since: I have lived in Eldersburg for a total of 6 years. I first moved to Maryland in 1985 and met my husband, Rick, a Sykesville native. Job opportunities took us to California, Colorado and Massachusetts but we kept coming back. When we moved back to Eldersburg for the third time in 2003, Rick and I agreed this was our last move. Eldersburg is home -- we love it here!

Occupation: Owner of Dream Dinners, a meal assembly kitchen, in Eldersburg.

Short Bio: Born and raised in Massachusetts; received a Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Psychology from UMBC; careers in Human Resources Management (10 years) and Project Management Consulting (6 years). I made a decision to leave a professional career and pursue interests aimed at helping others in a more personal way. I felt compelled to do something within my own community that would allow me to establish and strengthen my existing network of friends and business associates. I am grateful to be able to live and work right here in Eldersburg, and Dream Dinners continues to provide many opportunities for me to give back to the community.

Favorite Thing to Do in Eldersburg: My favorite days are when I don’t have to leave Eldersburg. Some favorite places around town include: Bupperts Farm; Habib’s Kabob; training at C & S Holistic Wellness Center; Piney Run Park; Liberty Dam and Reservoir; Dream Dinners (of course!) and my daily fountain soda from the Exxon station.

Favorite Hobby: Gardening

Favorite Book: The Fountainhead, Ayn Rand

Favorite Movie: Shawshank Redemption; Office Space

Favorite Website: Google

If you could add one thing to Eldersburg, what would it be? I would love to see a community garden in Eldersburg where neighbors could come together to grow fruits and vegetables; maybe a produce swap-shop could stem from that. Some land and a water source would be necessary, but otherwise the garden could be run by volunteers. Anybody interested?
